First of all, thank you so much for your feedback, support and encouragement. I am honored and privileged to be a small part of your lives and I am excited to share this part of my journey with you all. Again, I would love to hear your thoughts on the following. Here goes week 2:
Today I ask that you would teach me humility and teach me to value others above myself. My desire is to become a person that does not look to my own interests, but to the interests of others. I seek to find what You are doing in others lives. Father I desire to find purpose in Your kingdom. I ask that you would empty me today and then pour Your spirit into me. I am ready to be undone.
Promise 8: Thank you for promising to supply all of our needs (Matthew 6:33, Phillipians 4:19) I thank You that our needs will be taken care of (Matthew 6:26)
“If you love him, draw closer to Me. Don’t forget what I told you: have no fear of man. He who is in the world cannot harm you, I will guard your heart.”
Father my desire is to be presence centered rather than purpose driven. I pray that you would teach me how to rest in Your presence…to simply behold Your beauty. My desire is to become more like You, to spill out all that you are pouring into me.
“Learn to laugh at yourself. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Enjoy life. Have fun! Don’t miss what I have for you here. Be present.”
Lord I pray for words for those you have put on my heart today and I pray for a listening ear to hear others hearts.
Promise 9: Thank you for promising rest. (Matthew 11:28-30) Thank you for lifting our burdens at Calvary. “You don’t always have to have a plan. Watch, wait and listen. Don’t miss what I have for you. I will show you what I’ve created you to do.”
I want to put my trust in You. All of it. Holding nothing back so that I may overflow with confident hope through the power of Your spirit (Romans 15:13). Thank you for being my source of true hope and completely filling me with your peace and joy. Lord please teach me how to love others, how to lay my life down for others. I am desperate to learn how to love and I pray that you would show me what that looks like for those You place in front of me today. I ask You for a heart that becomes more selfless everyday.
Promise 10: Thank you for promising abundant life to those who follow You (John 10:10). I know that following you will bring more spiritual fulfillment that I can ever anticipate. I am so ready to leave boring behind! “Your physical body will not be perfect. This is a broken earth. Come into my rest and I will perfect your spirit.”
“I have complete confidence in you that you will overcome, that you will find your way into my complete rest, that you will cast off the chains of doubt and worry to truly grasp hold of the freedom and peace of mind that I will give to you if only you will receive it. I did not create you to be alone. I created your heart for relationship and for intimacy. Don’t be afraid to make yourself vulnerable.”
Father again I ask for a selfless heart today and I desire to hear what is on others hearts. I pray that you would give me the same love that Jesus has for others, the same compassion, selflessness and growing desire to reach out. I want to be so deeply in love with You that I will only be concerned with the needs You desire to touch rather than my own needs and wants.
Promise 11: Lord thank you for promising to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15) Father I am so weak yet I am strong in You. My desire is to see my inconsistencies as spaces through which Your grace can flow. My desire is to fight…not to make a temple but to become Your temple.
“Don’t take anyone in your life for granted. Stay in a place of thankfulness always”
Father I don’t want to pass into glory having held onto what You have placed inside of me but my desire is to share it with others. Father I ask for a releasing of creativity today and a releasing of confidence…but most importantly I ask for a supernatural releasing of humility. I pray that Your presence would spill into every situation in my life.
Promise 12: Thank you for promising to give us wisdom (Proverbs 1:23, Proverbs 2:7-8, 3:3-6, 3:21-22, 3:32, 4:13, 4:18, 4:23, 8:17, 12:10, 1:32-33, Isaiah 55:2, 32:6, Luke 7:35, Matthew 5:6) We are not victims but victors. We will not just survive in this life but we will overcome, we will “finish the race with the right attitude.” You are beautiful in all Your ways.
“Are you willing to trust Me that I have the best plan for you? Be present.”
Lord please empty me of myself today. I don’t want to focus on myself but Father I ask that You would fill me to overflowing with Your presence and give me true life today. Lord I cast my burdens on You, thank you for the freedom You have given me. Thank you that nothing can separate Us.
“Stop taking yourself so seriously and go have fun.”
Lord I desire to hear your voice and I pray that you would give me words of wisdom daily. Through my actions I will strive to bring You glory.
“Just as you wait expectantly for him, wait expectantly for Me to surprise you. Wait expectantly on Me everyday and be expectant of what I will do and what I will show you. Trust me and I will give you the strength.”
Promise 13: Thank you for promising eternal life to those who trust You. (John 4:14)
Lord my desire is to get to a place where I am so emptied out of the things of this world that there is only room for Your presence and love to fill me.
“Don’t be afraid of getting hurt. Always leave your heart vulnerable and open. Trust Me, I will make you stronger. It won’t be easy but it will be worth it.”
Promise 14: Thank you for promising to hold us securely. “No one will snatch them out of My hand.” (John 10:28) “See I have removed your iniquity form you, I will clothe you with rich robes.” (Zechariah 3:3-5) Thank you Jesus that all of our impurities and sin are removed by your blood. “Will you become my resting place? Will you lie down, even appearing not to do anything useful if I ask you to? Just because you love Me?”
…more to come!
