“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

Day 29

Father thank you for leading and guiding me through every step. Holy Spirit I welcome you here today and ask that you would fill me with a love that I would not keep to myself but give away freely to others. I pray that you would come and renew my mind and break my heart for your people. I want to hear others thoughts and I desire a selfless heart that is fully and desperately devoted to you. I want to live by truth and express that truth in actions that matter. Motivated by Your love and compassion, my desire is to reach out today and meet someones need. “Unheeded. Unexpected.” Thank you for taking my broken pieces and creating new life. I ask that you would show me which mountains should be climbed and which would be removed. My aim is to testify powerfully of overcoming and gaining victories through Your strength.

Promise 29: Thank you for promising us that an everlasting city is awaiting us. (Hebrews 11:16 KJV) “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” Thank you for not being ashamed to be called our God and for calling us your people. Thank you for preparing an eternal city for us.

Day 30

Lord my desire is to focus on spreading Your love. I pray that everyone I encounter will leave filled with joy. Not because of what I said or did but because You loved them through me and they experienced You loving them. Thank you for giving me hope. My desire is to be fully surrendered and devoted to You. I am determined to live a life abandoned to Your love, a life made up of passion. “But whatever was gain to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Chris my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage that I may gain Christ.” (Phillipians 3:7-8) May we gain a life lived in His love. “Before anything else beloved, we are His, hidden in Him.”

“Don’t get so caught up with what you think you ‘have to do’ that you forget to have fun. Remember I created you to come alive.”

Lord my desire is to share the comfort I receive from You with others.

“Your time with Me should not feel like a chore, like a work or like studying. My desire is that our time together would be exciting and full of joy. Every time you listen to Me and step out in faith…we go on an adventure together as you wait expectantly on Me to reveal what I am doing. Trust me when I ask you to do something, we go together and I will come through for you my beloved child.”

Promise 30: Thank you that every word of every promise You have made will come to pass. (1 Kings 8:56) “Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.”

Day 31

Lord I pray that you would come and renew my mind and give me a new way of thinking. I desire to think only pure thoughts that glorify and honor You. Lord I pray that you would lift up my spirits today, anchor my hope in you, set my feet on solid ground and energize me as I begin this day serving You by serving those around me. I ask that you would fill us with understanding so that we will know that no matter what You ask us to do, we can do it and no matter where You as us to go, You will make it possible.

“I will give you the power. Walk today by the power of My spirit. I will give you the power to serve others with passion and to walk in humble authority. I will show you what true romance looks like. Get ready because we are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Promise 31: Thank you for promising that you are God and Father over all creation. (Ephesians 4:6) “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” In a world of so much instability, it is comforting to remember that You are the only One that reigns over all of us on this earth. God you are the source of all things and true life flows only from Your heart.

Day 32

Father thank you for your protection and thank you for promising that your love will never fail. Thank you for being faithful to us in every way. Lord my desire is to serve, not just occasionally but as a way of life. I pray for willingness to lay ambition and self-centeredness on your altar daily and for a love that makes servanthood authentic. My desire is to focus on You and nothing else.

“I will teach you to differentiate between the things that have only earthly substance and the things that are everlasting My kingdom.”

Promise 32: Thank you for promising that we will be named after You. (Ephesians 3:14-15) “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.”

Day 33

Your grace that saved us is the same grace that will sustain us.

Day 34

Father my desire is to surrender my heart to You, to obey Your voice and to keep Your covenant. I know that all the earth is Yours. All that I have belongs to You. I realize that I can’t do this on my own, but that with you I can do anything. I realize how broken I am without You. Lord I ask that you would bring me to the end of myself and bring me to a new beginning in You. Thank you that your mercies are new each day. I want to be brought to a point of surrender, to have abundant life through You. I know I can’t “obey my way into your favor” but Lord my desire is that my obedience would reflect my surrender. Thank you for loving me no matter what. I’m giving you everything. My messy life, my heart and my attitude. It’s no longer mine, it’s Yours. I can’t get there without You. “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” (Psalm 19:7)

Promise 34: Thank you for promising to complete the work you have set out to do in and through us.

Day 35

Lord I know I am not big enough, strong enough or prepared enough to do the work You have for me to do. But You are. You are more than big enough. I don’t want to stop short of Your glory. As You live in me I want to live completely in You and my hope is that Your love will continue to grow inside of me.

Promise 35: Thank you for promising not to leave us unfinished but to complete Your works with our lives.
